Now I've got the Rallye 2 'Youngtimer racer', my 'FIMCA' is surplus to requirements (yes even I occasionally admit to having too many cars.!!). It's a 1976 FIAT 133 (the SEAT built rehash of the old FIAT 850). It's in the original moss green with areas in various attempts at matching that shade from past owners. I did the necessary welding when it was converted. Has SIMCA 1000 Special (1294cc) engine with Rallye 3 cam running on Honda CBR600 bike carbs. Gearbox is SIMCA 1000. FIAT driveshafts fit straight in. Front suspension is late SIMCA 1000 which gives the 133 proper ball joints, rack & pinion steering and disc brakes. Suspension has adjustable coilovers all round. Front radiator with Davies Craig electric water punp. Adapted FIAT 124/LADA rollcage. Spare glass and panels come with it. The end result is a kind of 'poor man's Abarth'. A SIMCA Rallye in a different outfit...!!! Has only been used as a track car since conversion. I'm looking for around £1500 for it..... would sell as rolling shell..... come and have a look. I'm at Chesterfield Derbyshire, 6 or 7 miles from J29 M1. Mick Ward 01246 20 0045 firstname.lastname@example.org
Sale fell through so back on the market. 'Definite' buyer didn't turn up...!! Anyway the 1294 SIMCA engine was more worn than I'd thought and was giving starting & running problems... One too many trackdays... . Would now sell as rolling shell as basis for bike engine etc. project or have a number of 1118 & 1204cc SIMCA engines and I could rebuild one to put it back to running order. open to offers... come and have a look...!!
Hi is this Mick Ward from AutoItalia? I am looking for a Rally 2/3 or full race gearbox or any help leading to one would be most helpful. Interesting project you have what make is the suspension? Cheers Simcaboy@mac.com
simcaboy..... just spotted your post. No I'm not the Mick Ward from AutoItalis. I'm deeply into SIMCAs. I have a roadgoing Rallye 2 and a German ex youngtimer racing Rallye 2 that has a Rallye 3 box with LSD but have no spare gearboxes.... the FIAT has a standard SIMCA 1000 box from the 944cc model. PM me and I'll put you in touch with the original builder and racer of my Youngtimer racer who runs the German SIMCA 'Heckmotor' club. The suspension at the front is the original FIAT leaf flattened with SIMCA 1000 uprights, wishbones, balljoints and discs and AVO coilovers originally intended for a beam axle Mini conversion. Rear end is original FIAT with cut down springs and adjustment added by adapted Koni front struts from a past Talbot Samba oval racer I had. I still Have the 133. A 'definite' buyer said he really wanted it as a rolling shell.... so definite he never even turned up to look at it. I'm struggling for space to work on my 1200S coupe/ store my other SIMCAs so am open to offers for the 133 as a rolling shell although could supply the bits to rebuild a SIMCA engine for it.
