trial fit of rear corner wing section so I can work out how much of arch repair panel will be needed as part of front section I'll have to fabricate. Other side will be easier as I have complete NOS panel for there.
[img src="http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/i347/wardsim/100_3603_zpsf75bde7c.jpg" alt=" " Found the answer to the panel I was short of for this side. The profile is the same as a door skin. We had a skin for a 4 door that had had the top front corner cut off. It was pressed into use and, trimmed to match up with the arch repair panel fills the gap spot on....
Cut rust out of inner wing on other side (most of it...! ) just left shocker mount in position so I get it in the right place when welded up. Reskinned bottom part of tailboard. Always think it looks 'home made' despite being the original SIMCA/Talbot part.
now has orange door fitted with glaass and proper colour.. Probably not a good idea to paint it first as 'gymnastics' required to fit locks, window mwchanism etc meant a few chips & scratches in paint.
Original door structure was surprisingly sound once rusty bottom edge of outer skin was cut off Had door skin with damaged upper frame and early lock/handle holes so have fitted that to act as emergency spare door.
More progress on N/S . Have replaced sill section under cab and have rebuilt 'dodgy' inner sill further back using decent box section steel. Once I've finished sloping area that goes up towards shcker turret, have recreated bump stop housing and generally tidied up this side of 'new' inner wing, I can fit NOS outer panels. I've got both sections for this side.
