then remove : the big tube between fan and radiator and the metal plate at the radiator. unplug the water pipes then 5 screws hold the radiator to the tank separation Remove it by the top or botttom, it's quite the same...
quiote dirty, the engine was getting too hot
after closing the connexions, I fillit up with acid to clean it.
after 2h45 of acide, it looks cleaner (in fact, I never got any overtemp problem after that ).
Quite a long time since I Post here...But was busy finishing my MATRA....
So, the restauration of the 1000 continue...Back to the past :
While using my car, i've noticed taht the horns were really "weak", because of a burned contact at the steering-wheel push button... I add two relays to prevent to burn it again, and a fuse for safety :
Since that time, hte horns are working really nicely...
Then I started to dismantle the body for final repar, before a brand new paint.
Got my own methode to remove the doors
Specially the expansion pin from the hinge...
first of all, remove the 2 screws holding the door stop.
then, open the door and put a jack to hold it.
in order to push the pins, without damaging it, I put a M5 hexagonal head cap srew, the head is slightly grinded to be smaller and not getting stuck in the hinge.
Then, you can use a pointy tool to push it, without risking it to slip away.
even on a certain angle...
when the head disappear, you can add anopther screw on top of it.. when you got difficulty to use the hamer, I use a bar. Hamering this bar will push it down
