And here we have the real thing written off because someone drove out of a junction into the side scratching the N/s front wing, front door, denting the rear door and bending the rear wing and exposing the rust. I got the car for spares for £50 but its too good so I shall eventually get round to putting it back on the road. Its missing the correct radio and the front grill I took off for safe keeping, its the same style but in the cascade blue body colour. Note the S badge on the tailgate, another one off! There is at least one other survivor and in better condition
Interesting article, thanks. My grandfather had a Horizon GLS summertime special (B614TTT) which he bought from the Peugeot Talbot garage in Kingsteignton, Devon. One day we parked along the front in Teignmouth, came back an hour or so later to find another one, with a very similar number plate parked in front of his. He only went and tried to open the wrong car !!! It was a hilarious moment, especially to find both cars had an identical box of tissues on their parcel shelves !!!! Sadly due to poor health he stopped driving it and it stood for years in his garage, eventually got taken away for scrap for about £30, probably with a seized engine and congealed oil inside. It was sad as it was still in good nick on the outside and the interior was spotless. Had covered less than 70,000 gently driven miles in its life.
If its of any use to anyone, i have the Autodata Talbot Horizon repair manual from 1985 in good condition. Can pass on to a good home for a few quid..
