Having sold my two Honda powered SIMCA 1000 projects and thinking of moving on my SIMCA powered FIAT 133 track car... I've just replaced them with this.... A SIMCA Rallye originally prepared by and raced in the 'Youngtimer Trophy' race series by Frank Breidenstein, who runs the SIMCA Heckmotor Club in Germany. Dan, the previous owner here had class wins in 'Classic Thunder' races in this really quick car. For me it's the ultimate trackday car to enjoy before I'm too old.
After its runs up Shelsley walsh Hillclimb, last Friday it was back to its 'normal' environment... the circuit, at a trackday at Blyton Park near Gainsborough. Most of the day saw pouring rain but with ' wet' tyres it stuck like glue to the track at a fair old speed too. ...disproving all the comments from 'unbelievers' in rear engine cars like 'tail happy'...'going straight on on the bends'..etc. sheer fun...!!!
