Hi Guys, I am desperately trying to save this very rare Commer PB Highwayman, this camper needs restoration but is far too rare and good to be scrapped. The Scrapman is booked for 31.10.12 (Wednesday) as the chap has got to move out and of course this camper must go. Due to the weight the scrapman has offered £450 for it. The mileage is only 35,000 but will need either new doors or repairs to the bottoms plus the sill areas. I love this camper,it has so much character but i am loosing my storage facility so can't save it which makes me pig sick.
The camper is located just near Guildford in Surrey and the Chap is genuinely gutted this is happening,he has tried to advertise it elsewhere but with no luck at all. If anyone can save it even to just pass it on to someone who will restore it then that would be amazing. These campers are going up in price mainly because they are so rare!! I have the name and contact details if anyone would like to private message me.
Please guys if anyone can help or know of someone that can do not hesitate to make themselves known,we have until Wednesday 31.10.12 until she has to go!!
Richie Ps i do have some more pics of the doors and sills if anyone wanted them .
Hi there Richie! I was browsing through google images looking for paint job ideas for my commer and stumbled upon your message...I had to let you know that I bought this very van a couple of years ago on ebay. I've had the mechanical bits done and it's been out on the road but obviously all the rust needed sorting. It has been away getting welded and will finally be back tomorrow! It's was a bit of a nightmare finding someone to do the work and then he took ages, but it is being cared for and slowly restored! When it's back the next thing to do is sort out the rotten wood in the back and then I can start returning it to its former glory...I'll send some pictures of the work if you like. Anyway I thought you might like to know that it had been rescued and will be back on the road soon! Cheers Zoe
